After seeing it just now, I still think that part 1 is much better. In part 1 I could still laugh about some parts, but this was certainly not the case with this part. Although, the sentences that came out of that seven-year-old's mouth did make me laugh. You wouldn't even expect something like that from an adult, let alone from a toddler.

Acting performances by Tim Allen were good, but by that son of his, not to look at.

Also very predictable that he manages to marry a woman exactly 1 minute before Christmas.

In short: A film for the little ones. 1.0 stars.

Bad.

Although I have to admit that mid-summer on a tropical island isn't the best time to settle down for a Christmas movie. But apparently they think it's a good time on some movie channels to throw in a Christmas movie day.

Tim Allen really is a dragon of actor and does his image justice. Furthermore, the CG Santa is too terrible for words and you are presented with some salt-free family movie that probably only appeals to the smallest Christmas fans.

A true dragon of a movie.

The first part still looks quite nice, fainter than part 1, but especially the scenes on the north pole I found very atmospheric and colorful and some bizarre scenes that were quite acceptable.
The 2nd half unfortunately feels a lot more forced, cliché full and slow. The love story is not believable for a moment and his son is not too interesting in old age either.
The idea of a bad santa already went quite far, but I could still appreciate it a bit, unfortunately the film then goes completely overboard with those giant soldiers. The movie feels more like a comic book at times.

It's not a terrible film, quite a few scenes that give you a happy feeling and visually the film is also worth watching, but at the same time it only makes you long for the previous part.

2*
