Broadway performer Elizabeth Madden finds a baby abandoned on the street one day. She would like to keep the child, but to initiate an actual adoption, she will have to have a husband. She knows her doctor Dr. McBain into an arranged marriage. During their marriage, however, the two begin to feel serious about each other, but there are still some problems lurking.
