Good film in which a journalist gets fired and starts working for her old employer again. A late sequel where changing times provide most of the humor. The plot is predictable in places, but it is all easy to watch (especially thanks to the fine cast). Just slightly not as good as the first part, but still just 3.5 stars.

I unexpectedly managed to catch this one and found it to be quite an entertaining film. I felt the tone itself was less harsh than the previous film, although it has been a long time since I saw that one, so I could be off the mark. The cast did a fine job and, despite the longer running time, it wasn't boring. The story wasn't super surprising, but it didn't bother me either.

At the very moment Andy Sachs [Anne Hathaway] is about to accept a prestigious journalism award, she and her colleagues are fired on the spot due to budget cuts. Through connections, she ends up working again for Miranda Priestly [Meryl Streep], who is not as shrewd as she once was and is embroiled in a power struggle with her former protégé Emily [Emily Blunt]. That power struggle is uninteresting. It is, therefore, primarily an excuse to have an impressive parade of fashion icons and related celebrities appear in cameos. An ego project for the fashion world, recommended at best for die-hard fans of high fashion.
