A bunch of Tarantino and Scorsese idols at the start of their careers and looking for a breakthrough. They know they don't have Scorsese's brilliance, but they have guts. Then a nicest video like this rolls out. Experiment a bit, like Scorsese did with Mean Streets. And they've learned another lesson from Scorsese's career: making art about a subject you really have something to say about. And they have: to date I have not seen a film that manages to illuminate all the laws of the game of decoration with such finesse. And it is very recognizable, almost every group of friends knows such relationships.

Of course you could argue that it is all not devoid of machosism and that a few things could have been a little less, but cocky behavior and hip-doing is simply bon ton in such circles. The low-budget content does take some points off my rating: however sympathetic the film may be, the cameraman probably did not yet have a Master's Degree in his pocket. All in all, an interesting project.

No, the story is not much, but nevertheless everything about this film is just right. The atmosphere, characters, humor, the trendy words. Yes, just money.

Wonderful movie.

Annoying movie.

Thanks to the annoying characters. Difficult when you can't stand it, because there is not much more to experience. This is the kind of film that should not immediately have a plot, but rather atmosphere, situation and recognizability. None of that for me.

Favreau is a whiner first class, Vaughn a jerk first class. And worst of all, both actors are absolutely unfit for their roles. The nagging between the two absolutely does not come across and then only some empty dialogues and a setting that puts the poor/failing artist's existence in the spotlight a little too much.

The film also looks fairly cheap, but in the end it was just that. Nice if you like plotless lame movies and what you can do with these kinds of characters, but apart from a funny funny moment I was mostly bored with this film. Not that I have a very high opinion of Liman, but I expected a little more from this one.

1.5*
