"Two jailbirds who just want out of the cage."

A playwright and an actor lose their jobs on the same day. They decide to seek their fortune elsewhere and end up in a small town. They do a publicity stunt in front of a bank, dressed as woodpeckers. While they are having lunch, the suits are abused by bank robbers and they are sentenced to 125 years in prison. While their lawyer searches for the real perpetrators, they try to survive in prison. Since one of them has no problem with the mechanical bull, the prison warden wants them to participate in the prison rodeo. The rodeo is their opportunity to escape.

Together with Silverstreak the best of the famous duo. Now somewhat dated, but the jokes remain as solid as a rock. Good.

Nah.

I knew Wilder and Pryor, of course, but had never seen them as a duo. I only knew Poitier as an actor, but I hadn't immediately looked for this kind of film after him. Unfortunately, the mix of these three is very bland and also way too long.

A comedy can have a bit of momentum, especially the thoroughbred haha movies. 110 minutes is already a serious obstacle in that respect, keeping it funny for so long is not given to many. Although it is not true that a film of 90 minutes would have been much better.

Pryor and Wilder are just a tame duo, with a lot of annoying busy stuff that should be known as comedy. If there is a successful joke in it, it is often drawn out too long and their hyperactive stuff usually ruins it.

Expectations in advance were also not very high, but this was still very poor. Apparently they've made more movies together, don't make it a priority.

Phew I initially gave this a 4*.

My father rented this film a few times in my youth and I understood half of it, but saw that it had a very special humor.

Had yes , has not , because this has not stood the test of time .

It remains unique , this duo , and I do like them very much .

But almost two hours , with little humor .

And with super unrealistic situations.

Such a prison warden, who quietly lets the prisoner sit on his back during a panic attack.

And I could go on like this.

Bit of a disillusionment , some things you should leave as a memory .
