"Retired music teacher, tired of life, buys himself a grave and checks into a retirement home where he finally starts to live."
Ivan is a retired music teacher in his late 70s. He has grown tired of life. His son has never lived up to his expectations, he is jealous of his bon vivant brother, and the changes around him are moving too fast for him. He buys a plot in a graveyard with a beautiful view and moves to a retirement home so he can wait for his death in peace. But the exact opposite happens: Ivan actually begins to live.
