Snowfever plot
On vacation you can be who you want to be. On winter sports without her parents, the initially dreamy and shy Nicky goes wild. Following in the footsteps of her popular friends Max and Sam, she enters the fierce competition for popular snowboard instructor Ryan. In doing so, she threatens to lose the friendship with Eef, her fattest friend - literally and figuratively. She also risks the love of the boy she really cares about: Ryan's younger brother; Eric. At the Austrian New Year's ball, Nicky is the princess she's always wanted to be in her lavish Sissi dress. But then she realizes that she has lost herself to get there.

Such a pity. I'm one of the few people who could appreciate the films Costa and Full Moon, so I had high hopes for this film. Unfortunately it didn't appeal to me at all. It just doesn't look right at all. The way the characters are portrayed is SO over the top that it almost felt like a farce at times. And in a not funny way.
A combination of director and acting I think. Some try to make something of their role but others..... Oh, Jolanthe with her cheese fondue. How horrible!!!
And because it all seems so contrived and exaggerated, the romance doesn't come across very well either. Including that exaggerated romantic ending when they make a heart together while skiing, vomit. When the film already started with Hanna Verboom yelling "cunt this, cunt that, cunt sister, cunt like this", I already had my suspicion that the level would not be too high and that was right.

Bought yesterday for 1 euro at the thrift store, so that's about a hundred times what this monstrosity is actually worth. That such a crazy story comes to mind is up to that point, but that you then also get the financial means to work it out into a film is really crazy. Everything about this movie is ugly. What immediately stands out are the ugly hard colours. You would think that they have a nice light in Austria, but this really hurts your eyes. The music is also such a mixed bag. One minute someone is roaring a karaoke version of Tell It To My Heart, the next you're listening to one of those kitschy waltz tunes by Strauss. To make matters worse, the film closes with that overrated cover of "Heaven" by Do (Don't with Hell). Acting is also below par. Annoying soap stars who play nasty, jealous, mean teenagers who just go and piss each other off, stupid extras who look straight into the camera. Jokes that even Germans still turn their noses at (girl hits a broken condom vending machine hard, vending machine spits out all the condoms, another girl says: "So, you're up to something... ".
