Kind of like elevator music can be quite pleasant to get up or down; it's also nice that there are these kind of meaningless little things to kill free time.

This is as uninspired and formulaic as movies can be, but it produces an amusing series of celebrities in supporting roles. Jokes aren't particularly strong but entertaining nonetheless. Leading characters are fun enough to keep you hooked for the entire game.

Just a shame about a plot that seems to skip steps in its development. Let me put it this way: it doesn't really make sense.

Everything is Love was a bland but well-organized extract of the typical British all-star romkoms such as 'Love Actually' and the various holidays of the same name. Alles is Familie embroiders somewhat on this concept but also tries to be more.

The movie starts as expected. The various characters are introduced very quickly and 1 by 1 to walk - as you would expect - one sweet after another comedic romantic scenes. Everything is Family leaves that job fairly quickly and people who expect a romkom are actually quickly abandoned. There are hardly any laughter scenes, so AIF decides to set a more serious tone and become more drama than comedy. The story lines are all recognizable (what a surprise) but above all fairly mature. Complemented by a fine cast that certainly does a decent job, Everything is Family seems to be better than its predecessor, something the British sequels all but failed to do. Yet Everything is Family is not top work. The film estimates itself a bit too big and becomes long-winded in the long run, it could have been a little shorter. It's not because you take the stories more seriously that they have more to offer in terms of content, and Everything is Family also misses the point. Even for people who expect a comedy (because the film is indicated as romkom) the film can be disappointing if you can't worry about the fact that this was a different film than you expected. But the ending, even if it's not surprising, is a beautiful apotheosis that fully reflects what the film wanted to offer.

Alles is Familie is a pleasant surprise within the genre and above all shows how you can also bring this concept in a mature way. Thanks to good music, visually beautiful and an excellent cast, this romantic drama is one of the most entertaining in the genre

The film was not too bad for me and sometimes it was just very pleasant to watch. The first fifteen minutes was the least, especially with a major role for Römer who is quite convincing as a blower, but also just plain boring. After that the story really gets going and I think most of the characters are well portrayed and quite sympathetic. Then Van Kooten's dialogues also help, and a Van Houten certainly knows what to do with them. In addition, Derwig has a beautiful role and Bruijning stood out positively after his terrible role in Hartenstraat that I had seen before. Furthermore, the whole can of celebrities that is opened is quite funny with of course a star role for dad Van Kooten. The film is sometimes a bit too long, but the heart is in the right place. In any case, the film is fifteen minutes too long. The movie would have gotten some real pluses had it stopped a little earlier in the middle of that bucket of misery, that would have left me with a satisfied feeling. But apparently they didn't dare take it, so the ending is now simply less interesting. 3.0*.
