The umpteenth in the highschool-teenpic list, but they remain hugely entertaining. In terms of story, this does not differ much from the standard films within this genre, but especially in terms of absurd humor, the film often surprised.
I'm still hoping for a strong Dutch version...

Nice movie, nothing new and nothing special about it. Nice for once, the concept could have been worked out better. And for a 2001 movie, he looked rather old. Also a pity about the end, another typical cliché speech that makes me puke.
Cast is funny, not really special except Jason Segel, very funny guy. Funny to see him in here. Schwartzman was just really bad. Could they have cast a better one?

A typical teen comedy, as various ones were made of it in the period after American Pie.
In terms of story and characters, it is all very standard, but a number of funny jokes and the light-hearted atmosphere ensure that the film has its fun moments and is otherwise quite entertaining. Schwartzman has some nice scenes, but as a whole it's all just too weak to really convince. Still, it's certainly not the worst film in the genre.
