"Sometimes homework starts at home."
When his ailing grandmother is hospitalized, a professor at New York University tries to reconnect with his family. That family wants to do everything they can to assist the matriarch during the last days or weeks of her life. This does not go well for everyone, because almost every family member struggles with their own problems. For example, the professor has to answer for alleged controversial behavior at the university.
