Romy and Michele weren't exactly popular in high school back then. When they hear that a reunion is being organized, they realize that their lives have not turned out as they expected. During the reunion, they decide to pretend they've made it all.

Perhaps a film that is highly appreciated for a specific audience, I can't do much with simple projects like this. I don't laugh much during comedy films anyway, but there are some exceptions. The antics of Romy & Michele are just definitely not the magical moments that make me laugh.
The film never runs very smoothly and although it is never downright annoying, it can never develop into a film that can hold on to something. There's some comedy in it, there's some drama in it, and even some brief moments of romance. It may be clear that a comedic approach is chosen, but the film can't really transcend itself in any direction.
The acting is still quite okay. I didn't find the ladies very funny, but it's hard to deny that the acting is good. Everyone understands what he or she has to do and that creates a clear feeling of passion. In between, the very special moments such as a kind of future view are also worthwhile. At least that keeps the eyes on the screen instead of the clock.
I didn't think it was particularly brilliant, but as a film it's definitely not boring to watch once. I'm guessing this film has a real American accent because on other (foreign) sites the film is much more welcomed. As small countries, we can do that well. Entertaining, sometimes nice and unusual, but in general not very funny and with a story that never comes out well.

Plenty of entertainment in this comedy that doesn't focus on real fun jokes, but more on comedic situations. The film is light-hearted and easy to watch. Two perfect roles for the main characters, namely Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow. The latter also applies her role from Friends here. 6/10

I was ready for something light-hearted and in that respect I was served my every wish by this comedy. The story is of course nothing, but it does give Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino the opportunity to showcase their considerable comic talents. Especially Kudrow, who is actually just redoing her role in "Friends", is in shape.
