Prodaná Nevesta plot

A rural festival begins in the village square and the dancing villagers sing a song. The beautiful Marenka Krusinová is sad, because her parents have invited the marriage broker and a groom with his parents. But the girl is in love with Jeník, to whom she expresses faithful love. The marriage broker Kecal introduces Vasek Mícha as the groom. However, Marenka refuses the new suitor and when she meets the disguised but rather stupid Vasek, she makes him believe that his future bride is going to poison him.
