Natale al Campo 119 plot
After the second World War. Camp 119 in California. The war is long over, but the Italian prisoners are still waiting to return home. They prepare to have another sad Christmas away from their families. While they wait, they tell episodes from their lives. A Roman talks about the difficult married life in the US. A Neapolitan soldier talks about his lieutenant, a destitute duke. Meanwhile, the commander brings the prisoners a gramophone so they can sing songs. Another soldier recalls the feasts and songs of the Sicilian spring, while a Venetian gondolier extols his love affair. Now and then the prisoners listen to the news from abroad and Italy. Everyone is waiting for the big day of his release.
