Love the Italo-American way

I found it disappointing, especially considering the average on MM. It doesn't really know how to move and there is also a lack of comic talent. I can't even recall a comic scene even though I watched the movie half an hour ago. That says enough. Cher was not to be seen in this movie with her huge poodle haircut, and the turn to romance with Nicolas Cage looked forced "by the unwritten rules of romantic film" rather than heart and soul. In addition, a few romantic side steps are worked out with Loretta's parents and I didn't think that worked at all anymore. And apparently it all has to be special because it's how italo-Americans are, that's why they bring out a lot of clichés about Italians, although I can't remember seeing a spaghetti thread. ... Not a particularly fun rom-com. I have to do my very best to still hand out a 2.5*... And this won 3 more Oscars.

Moonstruck isn't exactly a special film either. A kind of love triangle in which love is found twice or not. You can call this film a spaghetti romance somewhere. Very little content and the chemistry that was actually completely missing. Nevertheless, the film looks nice, but heart and soul are missing here. Add a full moon and thanks to the moon, the woman finds the man. We'll make it "Moonstruck", if that's not a good title I don't know what is. Overrated.

drowsy.

Film that is really impossible to get through and for its vintage still has 1 of the more old-fashioned forms of romance. Now I had actually expected a musical in advance, so that was surprising, but no better. Moonstruck was a movie I could have easily skipped.

Cher is still doing reasonably well, but her appearance falls completely flat. It is that she can drum up her dialogues well, but otherwise I did not like it. Flat charm, flat everything. Not a fun character at all to stare at. Tame humor too and a boring background. Unfit to hold your attention for 102 minutes.

Cage is the show stealer, but that is not too difficult with the other crew members. Normally you would say that he is really totally unfit for the lead role, but here he has something. He is just not very dominant, threatening or tough, whatever director Jewison would have you believe. He's just different and that's what makes him fun.

Furthermore, the film is full of completely uninteresting things, boring dialogues and old-fashioned romance. That weird way of kissing again. Apparently enough to melt a lot of hearts with, on me it really has 0 effect. I find it especially annoying and unrealistic, but hey, this film is not exactly realistic.

Visually also quite boring. A few nice settings but otherwise very classic and boring directing. Few top marks to be seen here. Dialogues also lack sharpness and the chemistry between the actors is really just not there. The film actually gets boring very quickly and I hoped after fifteen minutes that the time would run a little faster.

No, this wasn't him. In any case, not a film that suits me very much, but can also really convince me in very few areas. Boring and classic cinema, I really can't do anything with it. Cher is definitely not going to be one of my favorites this way.
