Mediocre film in which a man finds out that his fiancée's father is part of the mafia. A nice feature for a comedy, however, the humor is perhaps a bit too subtle here, making it a bit boring. The whole mafia casting is well done.

“Note to self... rent Goodfellas, Casino, Godfather 1, 2, 3.”

Reasonable. As a mafia comedy, Mickey Blue Eyes is quite successful, but as a rom-com the film does not work at all. That's because there's more chemistry between Grant and Caan than between Grant and Tripplehorn. There are some funny moments in the film, and the mafia genre is nicely ridiculed. It is sometimes very easy and uninspired, but a small smile could do with it.

Moa, I really give this film just a pass. While Analyze This was just great (also a mafia comedy), this movie doesn't come close to AT.

Obviously, this is a completely different story with different actors in the lead, but still. We see half the family of The Sopranos pass by. I also expected much more from Caan. He plays me too light for his doing. Grant, as always, is comfortable in his own skin when it comes to comedy and romance. The film has really nice moments, dialogues are good and the film also looks great.

This Mickey Blue Eyes is great for an evening at the movies! 3*
