Meet Me Next Christmas plot
After meeting the handsome and charming James, Layla is motivated to see him again. On Christmas Eve, he will go to the sold-out Pentatonix concert. In order to reconnect with the man of her dreams, Layla tries to get tickets in New York City. The hopeless romantic is accompanied on her mission by an unexpected ally: the professional concierge Teddy. The duo will not let anything or anyone stop them.

Typical Christmas movie with the necessary clichés and predictability, but somehow worked out a little differently than most Hallmark Christmas movies. Here and there a bit refreshing in terms of approach in combination with music by Pentatonix. Christina Milian knows how to convince with her charm just like she did in the movie Resort to Love (2021). Nice actress. 5/10

Movie for the real romantic Christmas lovers, so not for everyone. Sweet as sugar, cliché and lots of Christmas atmosphere, being New York with lights, snow, Christmas trees and lots of tsingel tsjangel and Christmas music. Is my first Christmas movie of 2024 and for me an instant hit. So in addition to Christmas you also get a romcom with a nice story. And this story is about finding a ticket for the group Pentatonix, which I have never heard of, but after a quick google search it turns out to be an American A-capella band. This group acts effectively and provides an extra dimension in the film. Come across as humorous when they sing a one-liner together every time, and their music also completes the Christmas picture.
Christina Milian is cute and in the review earlier there is a reference to Resort to Love, but I found the latter better in terms of humor (and also the atmospheric Mauritius). But well, this film is of course a tiny bit different genre because of its Christmas…
Still giving it 4* because I enjoyed this first Christmas movie of the year and want to give it the same rating as I gave Resort to Love. Knowing that there is also a lot of crap when it comes to Christmas movies and this one is above them in my opinion, both for Christmas and for romcom…. (Not everyone will agree with that)
