Sonny and his wife Maya, an architect, have a system to take care of their children. When Sonny's old friend Huck invites him to a birthday party, Sonny refuses at first. However, Maya offers to take the children from him and go on a trip. When they're gone, Sonny enjoys his free time the way any father would. When he eventually reconnects with Huck, they spend a chaotic weekend that is anything but relaxing.

As a good family man, Kevin Hart has already been linked to spy Dwayne Johnson, to assassin Woody Harrelson and now to dissolute childhood friend Markymark. And all this in a span of just 6 years.
Admittedly, he's just really, really good at it. Average moron who is forced to get along with his opposite. Looking scared, screaming in a panic and squeezing out witty one-liners in the most awkward situations. See also: Jumanji.
Panic, you can call Kevin Hart for that. It is the black Jochem Myjer. And before you dismiss him as a one-trick pony: he has also shown himself from a completely different side with the serious Fatherhood , so he can break a game with me.
But I'm not very happy with the movie. He's entertaining - especially the aggressive puke scene - but predictable as shit. And that makes it a very lazy Netflix formula film. Like most Netflix movies are. Crowd pleasers. Throw some tested elements in the blender, mix, upload. That's how Netflix rolls. I'm a little done with it.
It's really about time the platform came up with a bold, original, high-profile production.

For years, Sonny Fisher [Kevin Hart] has attended the spectacular birthday celebrations of his best friend Huck [Mark Wahlberg], but he has missed the last three birthdays. When Sonny's wife Maya [Regina Hall] thinks it's good if he takes some time for himself, he decides to accept the invitation to Huck's 44th birthday party. Hart once again does his trick as a good family man and Wahlberg (who has little to do) is charismatic as his best friend, but the humor is banal and the story too superficial and predictable. Hart certainly won't win any new fans with this. The fans of his comedic style will appreciate it a little more.

Formulaic comedy. Typical Netflix product and typical Kevin Hart product. It's something. Screaming, busy, unfortunately not funny either. That's all this film was supposed to be, but it doesn't succeed for a moment. Mark Wahlberg is, following Dwayne Johnson and Woody Harrelson, the next to be linked to Hart, but I've never had the feeling that he seems to know what he's actually doing in this movie.
