La Vie Est Belle plot
One day, penniless, young Kourou leaves with a passing, overcrowded truck for Kinshasa to pursue a career as a musician. But his quest for happiness and fortune does not go smoothly. In the city he has to settle for a job as a house servant. He also quickly falls madly in love with the beautiful Kalibi. He is fired and then makes a living as a shoe shiner. And so begins a series of wanderings and adventures for Kourou.
