Corliss Archer, 15, and Mildred Pringle, 17, are best friends. Together, they get into some mischief that causes their parents to fight over who is a bad influence on whom. This battle also affects Mildred and Corliss' brother Lenny Archer. Mildred even runs away for the weekend when Lenny is on leave from the military. Fearing the Pringles want to annul their marriage, Mildred and Lenny decide not to tell anyone but Corliss. But then Mildred gets pregnant…
