Law student Caroline and the amanuensis Tom are a couple, which they keep secret. Tom is afraid of his professor's criticism and Caroline of her mother Hella's opinion. When Caroline finds out that her mother and the professor once had an affair and that she was the result of it, she will do everything she can to convince both of Tom and her happiness.
