I Was on Mars plot

A young Polish provincial girl, Silva (Maria Schrader), leaves for New York with a suitcase and some dollars. With big, innocent eyes she walks around the city or watches American TV. Not much is left of her dollars when she meets Alio (Dani Levy). Alio is a petty thief of fictitious Italian descent, a soft spot for garlic and an inordinate admiration for the heroes of The Godfather and Goodfellas. He drains the girl of her last dollars and Silva roams the streets of New York. However, she does not give up and pursues her attacker doggedly.
