Hedwig and the Angry Inch plot
"An anatomically incorrect rock odyssey"
Hedwig was born in East Berlin as the boy Hansel. He fell in love with an American soldier, and had sex surgery in order to marry him and flee west. Unfortunately, things didn't go quite as planned: years later, Hedwig tours the States with her rock band, telling her life story between concerts. Her tour dates coincide with rock star Tommy Gnosies, a boy who was once in love with Hedwig but ran off with all her songs one day.
