"A comedy beyond the call of duty."
Tess Carlisle is the widow of the former president of America who drives her bodyguard Doug to despair. Conflict after conflict arises when he wants to do everything by the book, while Carlisle prefers to use him as a golf caddy or errand boy. But then something terrible happens because of Doug's negligence.

Reasonable film, which is on the slow side and doesn't mean much in terms of script.
Still, it is quite amusing to watch, because of the interplay between Cage and MacLaine. The moments when Cage almost jumps out of his skin because she wants something different than that is actually possible, are quite fun. Cage does a decent job, but Maclaine in particular is very good in her role of the prickly old lady. However, there is sometimes just too little happening around that to keep it all really interesting.
It all looks quite easy thanks to two excellent actors, but otherwise this is nothing special.

Mediocre film about a bodyguard who no longer feels like protecting the wife of the former president. The balance between comedy and drama is fine here, but the film is sometimes a bit on the boring side. Also, a better introduction of the two main characters would not have been out of place. Nicolas Cage and Shirley MacLaine do have a great interaction. Just not 3.0 stars.
