I was completely unfamiliar with this British comedy film series until I came across Doctor at Sea. This one is a step better than its sequel; the pace is high with many smooth scenes, and the humor, while not hilarious, is certainly not bad either.
The romance of Dirk Bogarde's character is a little less convincing but is ok.
Funny that a number of characters also return in the sequel.
