Nice film by Moretti, which consists of three parts and of which especially the first part is incredibly nice and atmospheric. The music is really great there and the images that we get to see, while Moretti rides his scooter through various places, are very beautiful.

The other two chapters are a bit lower in level, although it is certainly entertaining and there is still some laughter here and there. There is indeed little coherence between the stories, but that is not so bad.

By the way, after seeing this film I really feel like summer again.

3.5*

I am certainly not the biggest fan of Moretti, not as a director and not as an actor, a role he often combines in his films. I experience his films as tiring and not always to the point. I also do not know what to do with this film. A kind of triptych of which I hardly see the connection story-wise, but also separately I hardly see a common plot. It all feels non-committal, fiddling in the margins. A bit of humor here and there, slightly satirical actually.

It can hardly be called a road movie. The first part on the scooter through some districts of Rome I actually found the most interesting. To then end in the ugly Ostia where PPP was murdered. I am also like Moretti and enjoy architectural buildings and wandering between the streets just as much. It certainly does not show the most beautiful sides of Rome and surroundings. Beauty in its ugliness, something like that.

The visit to the Lipari Islands, of which Stromboli is one, was received moderately. Quite OK, but meaningless. I completely lost the last part with the doctors. So it only went downhill. The first and second part still made me want to go to Italy, but I actually couldn't do much with it.
