"Based on the classic novel"

Candide, a young man, was born in Westphalia and raised in the castle of the Thunder-Ten-Tronk family. When he is caught with his cousin Cunégonde, he is chased from the house. Despite the advice of his tutor, Pangloss, the young man's life will turn around completely. He first leaves for Paris, when the war breaks out. He is mobilized under the command of Colonel Nanar, but the rapid advance of the Germans causes him to be captured. He manages to flee to Switzerland, and learns from Pangloss that almost the entire Thunder-Ten-Tronk family has been murdered. Only Cunégonde is said to be alive, but she prostitutes herself for a black market trader and for a Gestapo leader...
