"Meet Oakland's Newest Battle Rapper."
For his graduate thesis, literature student Adam contacts respected battle-rapper Behn Grymm. He has conversations with Behn and follows him during rap battles. When he is challenged himself after one of the shows, he turns out to be a master at belittling his opponent. That earns him respect in 'the scene', but problems with his girlfriend Maya, who hates that Adam stoops to racist and sexist texts in order to be successful.
