"Live beyond fear."

At the age of 30, Alex Honnold was known as one of the most accomplished mountaineers of his generation. He was featured in adventure magazines and wrote the memoir "Alone on the Wall." But he remains obsessed with a challenge never accomplished by any climber: climbing the cliff of El Capitan in California's Yosemite National Park, without safety cables.

An excellent documentary and tribute in one, this free style mountaineer Alex Honnold.

After leaving the cinema my hands were clammy and of course no chalk powder with me.

According to a number of people, the documentary has too little “depth”. 900 meters seems more than enough to me. But all kidding aside, what an incredible achievement, of course you don't just have to be a top athlete for this, but also mentally as hard as granite (or not and just go up the mountain)

The documentary is nicely constructed, good music, beautiful images and looks exciting, if you like it that is.

The downside is that the actual ascent was shown a bit too fragmentary, it would have been nice if the shots had been a bit longer, but good

This sympathetic American has made history by climbing a very difficult mountain without ropes/cables….and surviving, because what are the chances of falling? If you think about that… You hope Alex will live for a long time, unfortunately climbers don't get that old when he is, hopefully he will stop in time.

Just saw it at the movie house. What an impressive movie. I am almost speechless. I find it very special that there are people who can and dare to do this. Very beautiful images, so grand that they come into their own on the big screen. I didn't find the film boring anywhere and at the end I sat with clammy hands watching. It's that exciting. I like Alex's calm personality, and Sanni is a nice girl. That also works. More than enough. 4*

This looked really breathtaking and fantastic.

That said, I'm not really good at climbing and even a little bit afraid of heights but what this guy is eating is just irresponsible in my opinion.

This really goes beyond all extreme sports. Just like his buddy says, it's like competing in the Olympics, but if you don't win, you're dead dead.

Also that they all know 30 men who do the same who have died seems significant to me. I think it's all going a bit too far.

You are actually applauding a kind of death wish.

Still terribly exciting.
