I read the Germans speak English as an objection, and so do the Poles...right? Isn't that an objection?
Anyway, rammed through it this afternoon and finished it with difficulty. Couldn't get into the story and somehow it all seemed a bit too dull and tame to me. A modest story that in that sense does not have to depend on the atrocities of the ghetto, yet it does not really interest me and does not in the least impress me. A TV movie at its best and not more than reasonable. Paquin would have put in a good performance and would have been nominated for her role, I think she comes across as forced at times in her facial expressions with her English with a Polish sound.

A good movie. Movies about the Second World War always appeal to me. I didn't know Irena Sandler's story beforehand. All I did know was that she had died - after the war. And I don't find it a problem in this case that the actors speak English.

The main character of this film is also called the female Schindler. That the film about Schindler lasts 100 minutes longer than this film says it all. In this film nothing more is done than show the story at a fast pace. Nothing about character development, nothing about coloring the context; just sequences that tell the story together. Other than that, nothing special. The story, however, is very impressive. So that's just enough for that.
