The German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and his Jewish friend Paul Rée meet the also Jewish Lou Andreas-Salomé. She is a brilliant mind, thinker, writer, poet and native of Saint Petersburg. She is a beauty and soon a love triangle develops between the woman and the two men. According to Nietzsche's philosophy, this transcends all morality. But Nietzsche begins to lose touch with reality due to his opium addiction and his venereal disease drives him insane.
