Penguin's Memory: Shiawase Monogatari plot
Mike is a penguin soldier who returns from the battlefield after being injured. Alienated from his family and friends, he leaves his hometown and embarks on a journey across the country. He ends up in Lake City and starts a quiet job at the local library. There he meets Jill, a young woman who dreams of becoming a professional singer. She is already in a relationship with a young surgeon, but is very attracted to Mike. She falls in love with him and tries to break the wall of grief around Mike, but a number of people conspire to keep the two lovers apart.
