Yes, the animation is great. It looks fantastically beautiful, I have nothing to complain about - but my goodness, what a drake story full of gooey, thick-set sentimentality. Regarding this film, I fully agree with the review of Donkerwoud at the top of this page. In the beginning it was bearable, but the longer the film went on, the more the sugary pathology started to disappoint me. I was therefore glad that it was over after an hour - especially after a terrible J-Pop ballad finally killed the film. Because of the beautiful animation still 2.5 *, but only because of the animation.

Nice Japanese anime again in which the visual aspect once again takes an important place in the whole. The falling snow, the surroundings, the train ... they all leave a beautiful impression. The content of this coming of age is also quite pleasant to follow. Quite recognizable too, because many of us may have experienced as a child that a best friend moved or went to another school and thus the contact withered. In countries where the distances are greater, this will probably be the case more often.

The interaction between Takaki and Akira is strong and intense. Very atmospheric film that I enjoyed very much. I didn't find the soundtrack that special and even the ending credit with that J-Pop was rather disappointing and not fitting with the serene story.

The first part also appealed to me the most, although I thought it was a successful anime as a whole. Such a Japanese anime always goes well in time!
