A Grand Day Out plot
Inventor Wallace lives in a cottage with his dog Gromit. Together they dig through piles of travel guides in search of a good place to spend a holiday. Because they can't figure it out, Wallace goes to make a cup of tea before reading on. He also wants to serve a saucer of crackers, but there appears to be no more cheese in the house to put on it. For Wallace, that's a minor personal disaster, because cheese is his lust and his life. The incident nevertheless gives him the idea that he and Gromit should go on holiday somewhere with a lot of cheese. He concludes that is why they have to go to the moon. After all, in his opinion, it is generally known that it is made from cheese. Wallace is at work in his basement, designing a rocket.

In terms of animation it is in the same line as all other series of Wallace and Gromit or Shaun the sheep. Always nice to see those puppets at work. In terms of content, however, this was the least I saw of the duo. A bit of a far-fetched plot that actually led nowhere. The landing on the moon certainly did not captivate me. For the rest, all the ingredients we are used to from Nick Park are present.

Delightfully over the top with the familiar absurd British humor. There are also a few references here and there in the film. The running time of just over 20 minutes is ideal. It can be a bit longer than the short animations, but it doesn't need to be any longer. Wallace & Gromit complement each other perfectly.
