In the review!

Just about the most idiotic, insane and incomparable Kung Fu movie.

Guaranteed good for days of staining your eyes and keep the aspirin handy.

Story makes no sense at all, also contains the typical Asian humor that is always so painfully unpleasant. And yet this is a very nice film feast. Only a few Kung Fu outrages come close, but this one remains the bomb.

Full rating.

Early Tsui Hark Truly in a league of his own. Particularly energetic film in both the visual style; with active camera work, the many fast cuts and beautiful sets... as well as in the performances with some big names passing by. It's a non-stop whirlwind of colors, stunts and special effects that were all exceptionally creative. Truly a beautiful highlight in early 80's Hong Kong filmmaking and can now be seen in optima forma with the razor-sharp Eureka! release on blu ray. Small side effect; you can now see the wires even better during the stunts

Sammo Hung on the poster, although unfortunately not in the leading role. The film therefore focuses on the mythical with the typical look at demons, ghosts and vampires. Made with bad effects, 1000 kilos of makeup and over acting. The choreographies are not too bad and luckily there are also interesting fights. But overall this is a disappointment for me.
