If I first get rid of all (vague) memories of the former "real" Lone Ranger, then I resolve to close myself off from all possible comparisons with the Pirates franchise (not difficult because there I wasn't a particularly big fan of) anyway) and finally my weapon with very low expectations... then this turns out to be a funny and entertaining roller-coaster with an Armie Hammer that I like considerably better than in The man from UNCLE (presumably because as John Reid he had a lot more to do and got considerably more dialogue), Johnny Depp who is sometimes extremely corny but sometimes also gives a surprising edge to his Comanche, and a huge amount of action stunts, the vast majority of which are spectacular and highly entertaining, especially when one or more trains are involved. The supporting actors are sometimes barely recognizable behind their beards, mutilations or prostheses, and if I say that the film collapsed somewhat at about two-thirds of its running time, probably no one will be offended, but as a whole I'm fine with this. entertained with. Well in an armchair by the way with a glass and snack within reach, not in the cinema, that would have been a bit too much honor for this film. The references to Shane, John Ford, The good the bad and the ugly and especially Once upon a time in the West are mainly distracting.

Much less bad than I thought. Besides the wildly uninteresting plot, the annoying bumbling of Depp and the insanely long playing time, there is plenty to enjoy. From the countless nods to western classics to the daring undertones about the way the USA treated Native Americans. Some of the fringe characters work pretty well too, like Bonham-Carter's. In this way we always get a glimpse of what could have been a very good western with a smaller budget and with a good director behind the camera. But if you do your best, you will still find something of a nice film under that thick dollop of Disney sauce.

The Lone Ranger finally reviewed, the first viewing only half watched the film. Of the four stars I had, I took half off, it's an entertaining film but it doesn't get really good anywhere unfortunately.

The huge budget for the film plays a big part in the entertainment, everything and everyone looks fine. Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp play well, especially with Depp as an Indian I enjoyed myself. '

The story/plot is not interesting to fill two and a half hours. However, the actors, the decoration, beautiful images and at times nice humor compensate for this reasonably. However, there won't be another review anytime soon.
