The Favorite plot

"He stole her innocence. She stole his heart....and his empire."

In the 1850s, the young French nun Aimée (Amber O'Shea) is kidnapped and ends up in the Istanbul slave trade. There she catches the eye of the Turkish sultan Abdul Hamid (F. Murray Abraham), who then buys her and takes her into his harem. They fall in love and Amber convinces the sultan to handle his conflicts in a more honorable way. When she gives the sultan a son, she comes into conflict with one of the sultan's other wives, who wants her son Mustafa to become the new sultan.
