Was curious about previous work by Sanders when I heard that he will direct the new GitS film, but this doesn't bode well.

The film mostly went in all directions. On the one hand a bit darker, but of course you take that down yourself when you come up with childish jokes. At times it seemed like the movie didn't take itself very seriously, especially when Theron is on the verge of overacting, and at times Sanders seemed to want to make it into a LOTR-esque epic. It's also very strange that Snow White is first presented as 'ultimate purity' (which I thought worked, by the way) and then suddenly presents herself as a military captain at the end. huh? In short, not much line.

Occasionally some nice ideas, such as the deer, but otherwise a fairly boring plot, weak dialogues and audiovisually not very special. 2*.

A sublime medieval adventure full of excitement and action

I am really spoiled with a fascinating story and beautiful images of forests and castles.

Watched it several times and in my opinion a really good adventure film.

It looks very nice, thanks to a perfect flow, so sit back and enjoy.

And the heroine Snow White is a woman after my own heart, what a sweetheart

“Lips red as blood, hair black as night, bring me your heart, my dear, dear Snow White.”

Grim film adaptation of the well-known Snow White story. Theron and Hemsworth in particular go all out, and visually the film also looks excellent. Stewart does a good job, but she remains a bit flat and emotionless (that could also be the role). The big speech that Stewart has to give at the last shows that she has it in her. And the likes of McShane, Winstone, Frost, Marsan and Jones as the seven dwarfs are great. Just like the adventurous and action-packed story.
