Searching for Bobby D plot

Johnny Argano is a New York actor who is frustrated that he is always being typecast because of his Italian-American background. He is therefore looking for an actor who can give him his big break. After much thinking, he comes to the conclusion that Robert De Niro is the only person who can take him out of his vicious circle and make him really famous. But to get De Niro's attention, he must first write a good script, and that is not as easy as it seems.
