1718, London. Daniel Defoe receives the diary of Robinson Crusoe, who fled in 1703 on the advice of his lover for whom he won a duel but whose parents he did not dare to face. Nice movie. More than successful, especially on the cinematographic level. Beautiful images and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the story is not told very well. Many points don't get attention and that's why it sometimes seems a bit rushed and feels a bit cluttered. The film doesn't last that long and actually there is too much told for such a short running time, so it all goes very quickly at a given moment. But that is not a big problem. I did have fun. Not much special, but certainly nice to have seen once.

I was planning to take a critical look... just like that..., but to be honest; It's a great movie where you just slip away! It's entertaining, it has an appropriate moralistic touch, and, last but not least (the whole movie could have flopped with that); there was excellent acting by Pierce Brosnan. His talent is great enough to carry this film. Maybe I'm exaggerating when I say that for this genre (if it is a genre at all) it might be a hit!

This was very disappointing. The only plus is Pierce who just looks good. Even with his long hair. He looks just like one of those guys from Modern Talking band from the 80s. Other than that, this is just bad. No tension. Stupid dialogues. Bad effect. A waste of your time.
