Watching this tonight/tonight on a German DVD in English.

A decent Italian revenge western, featuring a young Steffen, you know: our favorite squinting, wooden-clappy Brazilian count, who this time takes revenge on the members of the Lopez clan, who are responsible for the murder, or rather execution, of his father.

From the minute he appears, groups of killers are constantly sent after him throughout the film, but of course Steffen, a la Lucky Luke, shoots faster than his shadow and they are no match for him.

Calvo, whom we know from a year earlier as the cafe owner and Clint's well-meaning helper in the genre classic and prototype "A Fistfull of Dollars", is this time the big villain.

Furthermore, the familiar faces and two beautiful ladies, who both get their fair share of trouble, first of all there is Evelyn Steward aka Ida Galli, who this time looks less prissy, but insanely delicious and then there is also Gemma Cuervo de Igartua, as the daughter of the villain, but also Steffen's old flame, who completely pops off the screen.

For the rest, an average story and a lot of horse chase scenes, which often continue endlessly and therefore suggest that they mainly serve to reach the correct time span.

Atmospheric score by Felice Di Stefano, whose frequent use of the staccato guitar riff would make even John Barry jealous.

A six, or three stars.
