La Befana Vien di Notte plot
During the day, Paola is a very ordinary teacher at a primary school somewhere in an Italian town. But at night, she transforms into 500-year-old Befana, a Christmas witch who delivers presents to good-natured children at midnight each year on January 6 and has unusual surprises in store for naughty children. One year, a dog chews on her Rolodex and she fails to deliver a gift to Giovanni Rovasio in time, who then blames her for all of his subsequent misadventures, including his parents' divorce. 25 years later, Giovanni has transformed himself into Mr. Johnny, a villain who kidnaps Paola to take over the delivery of the toys. Riccardo, a student from her class, witnesses the kidnapping. He and five classmates discover her secret identity and embark on a magical journey to save her.
