Nice.

McLean is certainly not the great innovator, so anyone expecting something exceptional from this film is already in the wrong place. But McLean is a skilled genre person, so those who feel like a little two hours of jungle survival have come to the right place.

I used to see Radcliffe as Harry Potter, now I see him as a corpse. No idea if he thinks that's an upgrade, but I'm happy with it myself. In any case, he has worked hard in the last few years to improve his image, and I must say that he succeeded quite well. He does a good job here too.

Furthermore, this film is based on a true story, although it sometimes feels very scripted. It will be a bit exaggerated and/or romanticized here and there, but I don't think anyone who sits down for a genre film will have too many problems with that.

McLean is once again proving himself proficient. Beautiful shots in the jungle, a nice build-up of atmosphere and tension, a number of successful nail-biting moments and a character that can struggle through a physical and mental hell. A successful film, nothing more, certainly nothing less.

3.5*

Beautiful film based on a true story, perhaps a bit exaggerated here and there, but even then this results in an intense film in which Daniel Radcliffe plays a good role. The final scene gives goosebumps. About the other two is guesswork, but that guide was a strange guy and apparently he was wanted by the authorities.

I don't really need to add much to Underdog's opinion. That saves a lot of typing. It may be for the survival lovers but if you are one then I would definitely watch this movie. Sometimes there are also some raunchy moments that make McLean's Jungle try to distinguish itself from other genre films. I think Radcliffe is a good actor and he certainly proves that here, but it is also McLean's tricks that keep the film interesting, because the narrative threatens to collapse a bit here and there. Fortunately, during the film, character development was well taken care of so that we can still speak of a great ending. Some find it sweet, well, I think it's beautiful and catchy. Would you rather have seen him die after the rescue was so close? No right? 4*
