Threshold plot
"The infestation has begun"
The Oklahoma space shuttle has returned with more than just the crew on board: During repair work on the Hubble telescope, a fragment of a meteor penetrated the skin of one of the astronauts and took genetic material from extraterrestrial life back to Earth. . Now this rapidly evolving insect-like life form seeks out hosts to mutate to the next voracious stage. When the threshold is reached en masse, they swarm out - and then humanity will live in fear forever or the rest of evolution will have to do without humanity.
