Superman Returns plot
"You’ll Believe A Man Can Fly Again!"
After his five-year journey to his home planet Krypton, Superman returns to Earth. However, the world has not improved during this period, and people, especially Lois Lane, actually think they would have been better off if Superman had never existed at all. But these thoughts are soon changed when it turns out that evil returns to Metropolis and Superman is the only one left to save the city.

“I'm always around. Good night, Lois.”
Decent Superman movie. The film's greatest strength is Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman, which I didn't expect beforehand. He's no Reeves or Cavill, but Routh knows how to play Kent's somewhat wimpy and clumsy character. As Superman he is a little less, but luckily all he has to do is stare straight ahead. This isn't an origin story either, and I'm glad about that. We dive right into the story and the action, which is why it's such a shame that the film is still too long. And that there are too many long-winded moments and unnecessary subplots.

Superman, the dullest hero of them all, mainly because of his enormous powers. But as a character a lot more interesting. Only they hardly choose to highlight that side, but SInger does his best this time, although he still gets stuck in half-hearted work and eventually has to tell a completed story with too much fanfare at the end and half a plot about it. his son. As a result, in the end nothing is really worked out properly while the material is there. Actually, you should get a movie like Joker about Superman, that just might work.
As a whole film, this thing doesn't keep your attention all the time, it takes too long and especially the last hour is only moderately interesting. But there are enough beautiful moments in it when Superman always has to save half the world, a strong set piece with an airplane and decent renditions (except for an exaggerated Spacey). Only too little material is taken along and there is too much loose sand. 2.5*.

Pfft.
Superhero drama for far too long, presented rather childishly (such as that costume) but perhaps more faithful to the source material than newer versions. In any case: I don't read comics, so it can't appeal to me. The film undoubtedly fits nicely as a connection to the series with Christopher Reeve, of which I have only seen the first. The few nostalgic moments are the most pleasant.
In this (rebooted) sequel, Brandon Routh is Superman. He may look handsome, but I don't think they could have found anyone with even less screen presence. The clownish performances of Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth also make the film even tougher than it already is. Provided a comfortable setting, I have no problem at all with longer films, but in this case the 2.5 hours are barely manageable, let alone justify.
