The infamous San Andreas Fault lives up to its dreaded reputation. California is hit by a devastating earthquake. Entertaining.
But then only because of the devastation, because this film has nothing to do with story. The opening scene was also very poor, as the CGI looked very poor with the car crashing off the mountain. That was also the case with the earthquake on the dam.
Fortunately, the film recovers well when the city is destroyed by a 9.1-9.6 earthquake. You should therefore only pay attention to the spectacle because if you seriously watch this film you will not like it.
Johnson is an average character and the film draws a lot of clichés, but is very entertaining. The tsunami at the end in particular was a delightful scene (especially the siren worked well), and so were the condominiums collapsing / rippling through the ground.
All in all, quite successful as a disaster film, but you should not expect a good story.

A film that can be compared to the expendable films from the 80s. An action B blockbuster with an action actor, in this case Dwayne Johnson. It is really striking here how little variation the actor has in his acting. Give him a shopping list and he will bring it with the same style. But of course it fits and these kinds of movies are pure popcorn. And San Andreas is not that bad. Fortunately some budget and a suitable cast for the genre.

You don't have to watch this movie for realism, but I found it an entertaining sit, with the action perfectly fine. The family roles were very cliche and the ending could be guessed before the opening credits, but I still enjoyed watching for two hours. Mind zero and on the roller coaster!
