A sort of failed Jurassic Park with crummy CGI. The cast is passable, but otherwise, it's not much to write home about.

A brutal Jurassic Park/World film, with lots of explosions, all sorts of dinosaurs, and a virtually unknown cast. That's about it, though, because with a simple story and a decidedly long running time of over two hours, I quickly lost interest. But hey, it's definitely a film for the fans I'll skip it.

A mediocre mix of action, war, and horror. The story is pure slapstick, but that isn't what this genre is supposed to rely on. The execution is very inconsistent, with the negative points just barely having the upper hand. The first part of the film is actually the best. The build-up is decent, and in that respect, the film even rises slightly above B-level. The action scenes are quite good, with the necessary tension and suspense. The CGI is also reasonable. But the closer to the end, the more they go overboard and the quality drops. It becomes messy and chaotic. Furthermore, the budget seems to have already run out, as the CGI deteriorates significantly. Additionally, the film is too long and loses interest towards the end. The virtually unknown actors deliver a decent performance. 5.0

I enjoyed the first half of the movie—it sets things up well and keeps you interested. But it does feel too long overall, especially being over two hours, and you start to feel that drag in the second half.

The story is decent, but things get messy and chaotic later on, which takes away from the tension it built early. The captain, in particular, is pretty insufferable and feels like he’s doing too much, which can get distracting.

On the positive side, the CGI isn’t bad at all and is actually kind of pleasing to watch, especially with the dinosaurs.

Overall, Primitive War starts strong but loses its way in the second half, making it a mixed experience despite its interesting concept.
