Oblivion plot

"Earth is a memory worth fighting for"

The world has been destroyed by years of nuclear war. The survivors can no longer live on the ground and are forced to build a new existence at cloud level. Down on Earth live aliens that can withstand the radiation. Private Jack Harper is one of the last robot repairmen on Earth as part of a major operation to obtain important raw materials. His mission is almost over until he rescues a stranger from a crashed starship.

“Is it possible to miss a place you've never been? To mourn a time you never lived?”

Strong sci-fi movie. Visually, it all looks excellent, there's plenty of action, and the story remains interesting. And with Tom Cruise you have an actor who can carry these kinds of films with ease, assisted by strong actresses like Kurylenko and Riseborough (and Morgan Freeman). Through a number of (sometimes very far-fetched) twists, Oblivion also gets a personal touch, and that part also works. Mainly because of the fine chemistry between Cruise and Kurylenko.
