"MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!"

In the 1980s, movies were turned into games. Today we make movies out of games. (almost) Those film adaptations are always very bad. This is another totally unsuccessful game film adaptation.

The effects were very bad and very fake. The acting wasn't very good. The music, well the main theme is still nice but it's very annoying to have that awful 90s techno music throughout the movie.

The story is very vague and rather typical. I liked the fights (although the stunts failed).

Well, I did enjoy myself, but it wasn't the best.

What a horrible shitty movie. The worst part is that they all still mean it seriously, despite the bad SFX, actors and plot. Anyone who has played the Mortal Kombat games and is still dreaming about it may well run away from this. But to see a nice movie? Stay away from here.

Ugh.

The first film was actually not too bad (wasn't good but also not that hard to sit out. That's a bit different with this second part. After five minutes you already know enough. Bad CG, bad acting and clumsy action scenes.

You have those low-budget movies that try to hide their limited budget, MK: Annhilation seems like the world upside down. I think there is quite a bit of money in this movie, but it looks really amateurish. The effects are really invisible, often completely ridiculous and silly. Plotje really isn't any better, you just feel sorry for the actors.

Not too much of course, because the cast doesn't care at all. The only nice thing was that I recognized a sample left and right (especially from Shao Kahn's monologues). You'll just be happy with something.

This is a terrible film, one that will soon be forgotten.

0.5*
