Harsh Times plot

"Take A Ride To The Edge"

Great movie that held my attention from start to finish. Film is original in terms of storylines around the main character Bale with on the one hand finding a dream job after his military career and on the other hand sliding into his, I can say psychopathic, eruption.

Sometimes a bit over the top in foul mouth and a bit unreal but Bale does well in a role that differs for him from other characters he has done.

I follow the average here

At the start a doubtful case that digs its own grave within 10 minutes and basically resembles End of Watch, but stays far from that level.

Jim's background as Special Forces is still a good start, but once with his buddy, Jim especially changes into an intolerable figure. It's 'Bro' before and 'Bro' after and a lot of bragging with the necessary drugs and booze. It's where I completely give up and wonder what to do with these two jerks. That Jim loses his future job because of all this hassle can count on little sympathy from me, the aftermath of that will really matter and is far from believable. As if they couldn't find anyone else for such a position in Colombia than an unemployed drug user. Needless to say, the film no longer fascinates me.

The title Harsh Times certainly covers the load, hard in the sense of heavy, the times are indeed, but certainly not as Ayer intended them and Harsh Times is, in my opinion, a very mediocre film that can safely be skipped. Even Bale's good acting performances, according to some, pass me by, which I think do not suit him in the first place and are also much too thick on top. Hey, forget this very quickly!

Harsh Times is a film with a good story and a magnificent Bale. Nice speed and an ideal plot how you can screw up things in life in a fast train (haha).
