The Fighter plot
"Every dream deserves a fighting chance."
'The Fighter' tells the story of "Irish" Mickey Ward (Mark Wahlberg), a fighter from Lowell, Massachusetts who is about to throw in his gloves, as his half-brother, former boxer Dicky Eklund (Christian Bale), comes back to life after being jailed. To come to terms with himself, he helps his half-brother by training him for the championships in the lightweight category.

Beautiful true boxing film with an excellent cast. I was never bored, it kept me interested until the end. Christian Bale was the absolute star. Have had to laugh at him many times in the movie, e.g. when he jumps out the window. The film also has a cool soundtrack that I absolutely enjoyed. When you see the real Dicky Eklund in a video at the credits, you just see that Christian Bale has played his role phenomenally.

The Fighter is a real diesel. It takes a long time before the climax comes, but I thought that last boxing scene was very successful.
The family seems pretty marginal and in fact they stun Micky. It's time for a change if he really wants to achieve something. Christian Bale has undoubtedly undergone a physical transformation for this role as well. He's in a league of his own, but Wahlberg tries his best. Soundtrack is also appropriate. Movie looks like The Wrestler. Both are solid but a revision will not come soon.
